Acupuncture
Donna Zou is a certified acupuncturist licensed by the NJ State Medical Examining Board. Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and improve its functioning. This practice is done by inserting thin needles into specific body points to improve health and well-being. It helps to alleviate arthritis pain, headaches, migraines, asthma, smoking, increase fertility, and much more. This holistic, ancient form of Chinese medicine is designed to balance your energy (chi) and stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities. Donna has clinical experiences with many positive results in treating various pain syndromes including acute and chronic neck pain, upper shoulder pain, elbow pain, low back and sciatic pain, dysmenorrheal, headaches, allergy, asthma, stress relief, gynecological disorders, skin conditions, smoking cessation, and weight loss.
Therapeutic Massage
Therapeutic massage is the practice of soft tissue manipulation which involves acting on and manipulating the body with pressure – structured, unstructured, stationary, or moving – tension, motion, or vibration, done manually or with mechanical aids.
Therapeutic massage has many useful benefits besides relaxation, realignment and rejuvenation. Americans have been turning to therapeutic massage treatments to provide relaxation, relieve tension caused by daily stresses of their busy lives, and to help maintain good health and achieve a balanced lifestyle. Some healthy benefits that are associated with therapeutic massages is that they can relieve stress, encourage relaxation, improve posture and circulation, lower blood pressure, helps to manage pain, relax muscles, can improve flexibility and range of motion, and can relieve tension-related headaches. Along with all of these benefits, therapeutic massage therapy can reduce recovery time in medical conditions including allergies, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, circulatory problems, insomnia, sports injuries, and musculo-skeletal disorders.
Physical Therapy
Injuries can occur at any time even during common activities like driving, playing sports, exercising or even just being at home. Without immediate medical attention, these injuries can lead to serious impairment of function. Physical therapy is a unique medical science and art that utilizes a variety of non-invasive treatment programs to help patients with limited physical functions, pain or movement disorders recover their full function and independence.
Amanda Alfano is a NJ state Licensed Physical Therapist. Amanda has treated a variety of injuries including post-surgical, joint replacements, MVA, work comp, sports injuries, TMJ dysfunction, neurological disorders including vertigo, peripheral neuropathy and gait abnormalities, sprains, strains, etc. in the spine and extremities. Amanda believes a combination of exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, modalities and a positive attitude can assist in the healing of all injuries.
Disc Decompression – COMING SOON!
Disc decompression is a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure that is used for those who experience back pain. This therapy can be used to treat degenerated, herniated and bulging disc conditions, sciatica, spinal stenosis and many other irregularities of the disc.
A patient who receives disc decompression therapy is placed on a computer controlled spinal decompression table which separates their lower body from the upper body. This allows for pressure to be relieved on certain joints and structures in either the lumbar or cervical regions of the spine. As a result, the decompression helps the herniated disc to return to its natural position and allows an increase in the flow of water, oxygen, and nutritional fluids into the spinal discs which help heal any injury that has been caused to the spine. The treatment lasts about 15 to 20 minutes and is recommended for patients who usually suffer from a neck or low back pain issue.
